Dell Technologies provides a comprehensive data protection safe haven to help manufacturers avoid ransomware threats. They also offer a pay-as-you-go APEX solution, allowing enterprises to build intelligent automated AI management platforms with low financial burden.
Dell Offers Comprehensive Data Protection and APEX Solution
Smart manufacturing has been a hot topic for years, with data being the source of "intelligence". Liang Huihua, Technical Deputy General Manager of Dell Technologies Group, emphasizes that no matter how advanced AI becomes, it is useless without data to train it. Fortunately, many enterprises have realized this point and are using sensor data, previously only used to understand production status, for more integrated analysis, expanding the scope of intelligence to the entire factory or ecosystem.
Challenges in Implementing Smart Manufacturing
However, enterprises still face challenges in implementing data applications, such as how to successfully adopt new technologies, manage and use large amounts of data, whether company budgets can support sudden growth, and increasingly rampant ransomware/hacking behaviors.
## Dell's Three Key Elements: Data, Platform, Application
To address these challenges, Dell defines three key elements: "Data", "Platform", and "Application", accompanied by practical solutions to support these elements and help manufacturing enterprises maintain competitiveness.
## Edge Manufacturing One-Stop Solution
Dell has launched an ultimate Big Data platform that no longer adopts traditional batch upload methods but performs analysis at the edge to achieve real-time feedback effects and adjust on-site machines accordingly. To implement this, Dell and Litmus have jointly created an edge manufacturing one-stop solution based on the Dell Streaming Data Platform, enhancing Litmus's capabilities in collecting and analyzing data. Combined with Isilon, GemFire, Greenplum, and third-party visualization tools like Tableau, it forms a smooth Edge-Core-Cloud link, laying a solid data foundation for enterprises.
AI-Stack Platform to Accelerate AI Implementation
However, enterprises also face challenges when utilizing AI. Given this, Dell Technologies has partnered with INFINITIX, hoping to leverage their AI-Stack platform to help enterprises accelerate AI implementation.
Wu Xuanyi, COO of INFINITIX, says that AI-Stack is an excellent entry point for both IT managers and AI developers. With this single platform, it can simultaneously meet all needs for using or managing GPU resources. For example, developers can quickly obtain containers allocated by the platform within 1-2 minutes, meeting the required GPU computing power and integrating the necessary AI Framework, facilitating quick entry into Jupyter Notebook for development. At the same time, AI-Stack can also connect LDAP, SSO, multi-tenant resource management, image management, scheduling tools, and mount storage devices. It is the only AI platform that supports MIG technology.
